Properties and Applications

In addtion to all excellent properties of PTFE material, CGF-206 has outstanding performance in  paste extrusion to manufacture sealing tape, etc.. The resin are processed by mixing them with some organic solvents, 100# aero kerosene for example,   to obtain paste which are made into coherent, smooth and flat semifinished products after ram extrusion. Druing this progression the extruding pressure remains steady .The semifinished products are further processed to produce unsintered tape by calendering, enlongating and removing solvent with heat.

Normally 4 diameters are set for CGF-206 extruded   straps : 5.0mm, 4.5mm, 3.2mm, 2.8mm.

Processing of the oil-free unsintered tape

  1. Solvent: Aero Kerosene 100#
  2. Amount of slvent used : 20.1 ~ 20.6 g per 100g resin . 20.7 ~ 20.8 g per 100g resin is recommended.
  3. Temp. and time for solvent infiltration  before extrusion :  8 ~ 10 hr. at 45OC ~ 55 OC
  4. Ram extrusion temp.: 50OC ~ 60 OC
  5. Calendering temp. : 60 + - 10 OC
  6. Oil removing temp. (for drying) : 200 + - 10 OC
  7. Elongating temp. : 285 + - 15 OC
  8. Tape thickness could be reached : 0.070 + - 0.005 mm
